ENCC needs new members

Following a number of resignations in early March there are a number of places on the council for full members that can be filled by co-opting new members. These are open to all residents (i.e. anyone on the electoral register for this ward). Anyone with special knowledge, skills or interests that would be useful for ENCC can be recruited as an associate member (without voting rights), and need not be a resident. Anyone who is interested in a particular subject but doesn’t want to commit to being a full member can join a subcommittee, and would be most welcome.

If you are interested in becoming involved in Eskbank & Newbattle community in any way, at any level, please contact Brian Wailes, chair of ENCC, at chair@eskbanknewbattlecc.org

Normally we would meet and get to know you at our public meetings, but since March we have been unable to meet physically and have held meetings by videoconference under advice from Midlothian Council and after discussion with our neighbouring community councils at the Midlothian Federation of Community Councils (also held by videoconference). We have therefore not had an opportunity to persuade any of you to join us. Have a think about it – and get in touch to discuss how you could get involved. You don’t have to commit to anything. We’d really like to hear from you.
