New Domestic Fire Safety Regulations

The new Fire Safety regulations for Scotland requiring multiple interlinked alarms for detection of smoke, heat (and carbon monoxide where appropriate) to be fitted in domestic properties come into force in February 2021.

We are aware that many residents may have been leafleted in the last few weeks by a commercial company touting for business. This does not appear to be a local company. You may be able to install some types of alarm yourselves, or get them installed by local qualified electricians. We advise that you research your options before deciding how you will meet requirements.

We are grateful to a local resident for supplying a copy of the Scottish Fire and Rescue Service guidance on this which you can see here.
