Revision of Eskbank & Ironmills Conservation Area

We have received the following regarding the Eskbank and Ironmills Conservation Area from Midlothian Council’s Planning Directorate:

We’re looking for your views on new planning guidance for Eskbank & Ironmills Conservation Area. A public consultation on draft Conservation Area Character Appraisal and Management Plan for the conservation area is open until 18th February 2022.  Conservation Area appraisals | Conservation Areas in Midlothian | Midlothian Council

The CACAMP is a non-statutory form of planning guidance.  Its aim is to highlight the significance of a conservation area in terms of its built environment and history, and to provide a framework for managing change within the area. 

The Conservation Area Character Appraisal and Management Plan is available to view online.  If you have any comments, please email them to by Friday 18th February 2021.
